Norfolk Guide

Discover Norwich…

The capital of East Anglia, Norwich, has so much to offer both locals and tourists. Medieval streets contain a myriad of both highstreet shops and independent boutiques, whilst the remains of the ancient city walls can be seen throughout the centre, along with historic buildings – and of course the medieval Castle – standing proud on top a hill. Boasting two cathedrals, Norwich is a unique city linked together by some of the most attractive streets in the country, with a permanent market place founded more than 900 years ago, it also offers state-of-the-art facilities with the modern Forum and two covered shopping centres.

Norwich Cathedral

A place of worship, a historic treasure, and an iconic landmark. From its beginnings as a Benedictine monastery, to its role as a modern-day cathedral, there is so much to explore, from the ancient architecture to the modern restaurant serving delicious food and refreshments.

Norwich Castle

Norwich Castle comprises the 900-year-old castle and large gallery complex converted from the city’s Victorian prison. It houses internationally important collections in archaeology, natural history, regimental history and a wealth of fine, decorative and contemporary art.

Rooftop Gardens

Norwich’s first and only rooftop restaurant and bar offers 360-degree panoramic views of famous local landmarks, including the Cathedral, Castle and Carrow Road Football Club. Located right in the heart of the fine historic city, with plenty of nearby car parking, and just a short stroll from the train station.
